Message Let me break this down for you guys who are considering these gears and are still having questions about the costs of the entire project. I am not trying to bash ANYONE by making this post but, this should be required reading for anyone who is considering purchasing a set of these gears.

You will need a lift to remove the differential and reinstall it. Yes, people on this site say you can do it without a lift but, I would not wish that on my worst enemy. I took out the diff by myself and am by no means an expert mechanic. It took me about 2.5 hours. From my research I have gained the knowledge that it should be about $200 to $350 just to get the ring an pinion put in. My shop is charging $325.00. You ALSO need to buy a complete rebuild kit from one of our vendors that costs approximately $380.00. You may have to pay extra on labor for the installation of this kit.

Realistically if you pull the differential YOURSELF, get all the required parts to rebuild, buy the gears, and pay for labor to have them installed into the differential you supply, the GRAND TOTAL will be about $1,600.00 give or take $100-$200 depending on the shop you choose to have them installed.

I am a little pissed off just in case you can't tell. I invested half of my Saturday and was expecting to spend about $1100 to install these gears. Now I am looking at another $380 in parts plus a little more for labor. Not to mention, I have to spend another half of a Saturday putting the car back together.
